The CSCS Health and Safety in a Construction Environment Level 1 qualification is aimed at learners who currently work, or want to work, in construction.
Successful completion of this qualification will enable learners to apply for the Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS) Green Card* which allows access to construction sites in the UK as a non-skilled worker. Unlike the Site Safety Plus you do not have to resit this after 5 years.
Those who need a CSCS Full 5 year Green Card can obtain one by completing* this qualification. This includes those entering the construction industry plus those who are renewing their card.
A temporary 6 month Green Card is available but it can only be applied for once, after the 6 months has elapsed a Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment qualification will be required to apply for the full 5 year card.

The CSCS Health and Safety in a Construction Environment Level 1 qualification is distance learning you learn at your own pace, you will be provided with an online learning resource to help prepare you.
Once you have completed the online component you will then be invited to our Swadlincote Testing Centre to sit the 50 question on line test. Upon passing the test you are then able to apply for your card from CITB (additional £36 payable to CITB). As our system is linked to CITB there is no need to send your certificate as they will already be aware that you have achieved the Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment qualification.
